Amazon Prime: What you need to watch this warm and cozy weekend

My last two weeks have been extremely hectic and tiresome with a lot of catching up to do. So, you can image my deeply longing for a quiet, relaxing, warm and cozy weekend. I have also been dying to enjoy my very own “me time” watching some great shows on Amazon Prime and extraordinary films on MUBI.

I have compiled a list of what you need to watch on both Amazon Prime and MUBI. The next three shows on Amazon Prime and three films on MUBI are highly recommended MUST-SEE’s, but of course they are also a lot of other greats shows and movies for you to enjoy this warm and cozy weekend.

 

The Worricker Trilogy on Amazon Prime

1. The Worricker Trilogy

The Worricker Trilogy is about an MI5 officer named Johnny Worricker whose life has just been turned inside out. When his boss and best friend dies suddenly, Worricker is left to deal with a contentious Top Secret file that threatens the entire MI5 organization.

 

Vikings Season 3 on Amazon Prime

2. Vikings Season 3

Vikings Season 3 tells the story about Ragnar and Lagertha’s fleets that depart Kattegat once more for Wessex and this time they bring a group to colonize there. King Ecbert hosts the Norsemen and proposes a deal. Despite the misgivings of some of the other leaders, Ragnar leads his forces into battle once more, but this time as allies of Wessex.

 

Grizzly Man on Amazon Prime

3. Grizzly Man

Grizzly Man is a mesmerizing new film in which acclaimed director Werner Herzog explores the life and death of amateur grizzly bear expert and wildlife preservationist Timothy Treadwell, who lived unarmed among grizzlies for 13 summers.

 

MUBI: What you need to watch this warm and cozy weekend

4. The Headless Woman (Argentina, 2008)

The Headless Woman tells the story about Veronica who is driving in northwestern Argentina when her mobile phone distracts her and she runs over something but drives on. The police confirm that there was no accident, but Veronica begins to have a meltdown, thinking she may have killed someone. Was it an animal? A child? Or nothing at all?

 

Free Man (France, 2011) on MUBI

5. Free Man (France, 2011)

Free Man takes place in Paris during WWII and tells the story about an Algerian immigrant, played by Tahar Rahim, is inspired to join the resistance by his unexpected friendship with a Jewish man.

 

If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle (Romania, 2010) on MUBI

6. If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle (Romania, 2010)

If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle tells the story about a teenage prisoner who learns two weeks before his release that his mother has returned home. Meanwhile, he finds himself in love with a student working in the penitentiary as an intern.
