How to borrow ebooks from Kindle Owners’ Lending Library on your Kindle Fire

Earlier I posted about how to borrow ebooks from Kindle Owners’ Lending Library on your Kindle Paperwhite. I am glad that that you, my beloved reader seem to love it as this post has become one of my most popular posts amongst Kindle Paperwhite’s owners.

However, some of my readers – who happen to be Kindle Fire’s newbies – were also wondering how to borrow ebooks from Kindle Owners’ Lending Library on their Kindle Fire. Before I start with this tutorial, let me remind you about what you need to know before borrowing:

  • The Kindle Owners’ Lending Library is available to Amazon Prime members: paid Amazon PrimeJoin Amazon Prime - Watch Over 40,000 Movies & TV Shows Anytime - Start Free Trial Now, paid Amazon StudentJoin Amazon Student FREE Two-Day Shipping for College Students and 30-day free trial included.
  • eBooks that are borrowed from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library can be read only on Kindle devices: Kindle E Ink devices and Kindle Fire devices.
  • eBooks that are borrowed from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library have no due date and can be delivered to other Kindle devices registered to your Amazon account.

 

How to borrow ebooks from Kindle Owners’ Lending Library:

For this tutorial, I am using Kindle Fire HD 2nd Generation and Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. Without no further ado, let’s go ahead and start with the tutorial:

1. On your Kindle Fire, tap Books and then tap Store. Now you are on the Bookstore of your Kindle Fire (see image above).

2. Tap Menu next to the Bookstore (see 1st arrow of image above) and then tap Kindle Owner’s Lending (see 2nd arrow of image above).

3. On your Kindle Owner’s Lending (of the Bookstore), you can now see “Featured in Lending Library“, “Popular“, “Featured Romance” and so on. At this point, you have 2 choices:

  • Browse the Kindle Owner’s Lending and find an ebook that you’ll want to borrow, or …
  • Type on Search the ebook that you want to borrow.

Note: For this tutorial, I want to borrow the 4th book of Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. So, I type Harry Potter (see image above).

4. Select Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) and tap on the Borrow for Free button (see image above).

Note: I have already borrowed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book 3) so I’ll have to return the 3rd book in order to borrow the 4th book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (see image above).

5. Tap on the Return button to return the ebook you may have already borrowed or tap on the Close button and  your borrowed ebook will immidiately be downloaded onto your Kindle Fire.

6. Tap Library and then tap On Device to see or read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Books 4) on your Kindle Fire (see image above).

7. Tap on the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) ebook to read it. Tap Menu to see the table of content of the ebook (see image above).

Please note that if you own both Kindle E Ink devices and Kindle Fire devices, then you can sync the furthest page read across those devices (see image above).
